You can elect two different ways to pursue the Lally MBA that’s right for you.

 

 

Traditional MBA

Accelerated MBA

Description

Traditional two-year, 60-credit MBA experience with summer available for an internship experience. Designed for younger students or mature professionals in technical fields seeking to pivot into management.

Accelerated MBA, one-year, 45-credit program. Same core curriculum as the traditional MBA, with room for four elective courses. This program is designed for experienced professionals who are building their career within their field.

August; or May if international scholars program is selected.

Program Length

Several options:

  • 22 months (including summer internship; August start, May graduation).

  • 17 months (four continuous semesters including summer; August start, December graduation).

  • 16 months (if International Scholars Program elected; May start, December graduation).

Options:

  • 12 months (including summer terms).

  • 17 months (if summer internship is incorporated).

  • Option to slow the pace to four courses per semester to allow for other activities.

Credits

60 credits, 20 courses:
(11 core, nine electives).

45 credits, 15 courses:
(11 core, four electives).

Program Requirements

20 courses plus four required non-credit seminar series.

15 courses plus four required non-credit seminar series.

Academic Concentrations

One or two concentrations can be completed; seven concentrations available.

Sampling of electives can be taken; concentrations not guaranteed if the program is completed in one calendar year.

Class Schedule

Mix of day and evening courses. Wednesday days available for professional development activities except summer. Some shortened, intensive courses during traditional breaks.

Internship

Strongly advised, not guaranteed.

Not possible if program is completed in one calendar year.

Work Profile

One or two years of work experience, or International Scholars Program experience. 
Or significant years of work experience and desire for change from current industry/ professional setting.

Minimum of three years of work experience and plans to return to same industry setting.

Program Features

Flexibility, wide choice of elective courses and concentration options. Study abroad option through International Scholars Program; student clubs and Graduate Management Student Association offer leadership opportunities; internship options built in. Professional development and career development workshop series.

Fast, intensive exposure to general management principles, strategies, and tools for decision making, with focus on technology management and innovation. Exposure to the academic Centers at the Lally School, plus student activities, professional development opportunities, and student clubs and initiatives.

Admissions Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering or demonstration of curiosity and acumen in technology and innovation management. GMAT or GRE, resume and interview. ETS Personal Potential Index (PPI) recommended for those out of school for more than two years.

Three levels of merit-based scholarships available to qualified students:
