Dr. Corbett has been recognized for his excellence in teaching on numerous occasions. In both 2007 and 2004, he was named Outstanding Teacher of the Year by the Lally School’s MBA Class. In 2006, Professor Corbett was presented with an award for Outstanding Curriculum Development by the Lally School. He was awarded the 2005 McGraw-Hill Innovation in Entrepreneurship Pedagogy Award by the Academy of Management for his development and delivery of entrepreneurship courses.

Research & Publications
Professor Corbett's research examines learning and cognitive perspectives of the entrepreneurial process and the role of individuals within strategic renewal. Currently he is examining how various cognitive scripts affect the process of corporate internal new ventures and how constructs such as improvisation, mindfulness, and emotions can be better understood with respect to developing new ventures. His research has appeared in the Journal of Business Venturing; Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice; Management Communications Quarterly; The Journal of Small Business Management; and Academy of Management Best Papers. Professor Corbett’s scholarship has been presented around the globe at all of the top strategic management and entrepreneurship conferences. Professor Corbett was recently appointed Associate Editor for the Journal of Management Studies through 2011. He is also a member of the editorial board of the journal, Entrepreneurship: Theory & Practice.
