Rensselaer's Lally School of Management Technology offers undergraduate students in management the opportunity to seek further specialization in other non-management programs by obtaining dual or double degrees upon graduation.
Before becoming eligible for a double degree, students complete:
- Thirty credit hours of additional coursework beyond the requirements of a single degree. This is equivalent to at least two additional academic terms.
- Courses required by the student's primary academic department and any other courses deemed as required for the second degree.
When all the coursework requirements for two curricula have been met, students may obtain a dual degree. The following are additional requirements:
- The student must designate a first-named and second-named major in writing at least one semester prior to graduation and have the appropriate department(s) approve this designation prior to filing the dual major form with the registrar.
- Each student will be assigned an advisor in each department who will monitor progress towards a degree in that department.
- The degree clearance officer in the department will certify that the student has met degree requirements in that department.
- The 24-credit-hour mathematics/science requirement and the 24-credit-hour humanities and social science requirement will satisfy the Rensselaer requirements for both majors.
