Through our integrated approach, required and specialized courses are coordinated and linked together. In addition, functional management courses apply methodologies used in specialized technical courses while building upon case studies and examples introduced in other management classes.
Core coursework in management emphasizes basic business skills in finance, marketing, human behavior, computing, and organizational analysis and development. Skills in quantitative analysis are further developed through core courses in mathematics and science. Finally, courses in the humanities and social sciences develop awareness in a variety of societal issues.
Students are encouraged to pursue a concentration by taking an additional sequence of courses within the management curriculum. Options include management information systems, financial systems, technological entrepreneurship, and marketing.
Students seeking further integrated specialization may pursue a minor or a dual major in another non-management program at Rensselaer.

Please note that students must complete a required biology course with a lab and a science elective. Free electives may include an approved concentration, minor, or courses to be used toward a dual/double degree.
