During the winter break, Professor Sebastian Souyris visited his hometown in Chile and participated in three rewarding academic activities. First, he was invited to give a seminar in business analytics at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile. Then, he reconnected with colleagues at a lunch organized by the University of Chile’s Department of Industrial Engineering with alumni who are professors and Ph.D. students at universities outside of Chile.
Finally, he gave a talk at the Workshop in Management Science in Puerto Varas. That is a three-day conference and two parallel tracks with speakers from renowned universities. “The MS Workshop is a wonderful opportunity for faculty and Ph.D. students to present their research, get to know other colleagues working on novel topics of management science, and enjoy a few days of summer in Puerto Varas, a beautiful location,” Professor Souyris said.
