
Jyothsna Harithsa has been named the winner of the Lally School’s Doctoral Student Best Paper Award for 2022.
She won the award for her paper, “Disconnecting Financial Misconduct: Social Connectedness and Misconduct in Financial Advising,” which is part of her dissertation. She is advised by Professor Raffi García.
“Jyothsna's research paper investigates a novel research question and identifies social connectedness as an important factor enabling financial misconduct among advisories,” the award committee concluded. “Her paper has a potential to impact financial advisory industry with its policy recommendations to prevent over-familiarity between advisories and regulators.”
