Faculty Spotlight: Saggi Nevo

Saggi Nevo

Saggi Nevo, Ph.D., joined Lally in January 2024 as a full-time associate professor, with tenure, in information systems and analytics. Professor Nevo comes to us from the University at Albany School of Business where he was an associate professor of information systems and business analytics in the Massry Center for Business for the last 11 years. He received a Ph.D. in information systems from York University, a master’s degree in economics from Northwestern University, and a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from the University of Haifa.

Professor Nevo is a well-recognized scholar and leader in his profession. He has served as the senior editor of Journal of Strategic Information Systems since 2022, and served as the guest senior editor of Journal of the Association for Information Systems from 2012 to 2013. In addition, he was an associate editor of Decisions Support Systems (2014 to 2017) and the International Conference on Information Systems (2012 to 2021).

He is from Haifa, Israel, a port city in the north part of the country. He has three cats, a “high-maintenance” dog, and a “low-maintenance” fish. His hobbies include watching movies, listening to audiobooks (especially those about history), kitesurfing, and yoga. In addition to Hebrew and English, he also speaks Spanish. A lifelong desire to be part of a three-letter acronym organization attracted him to the position at RPI, as well as a wonderful experience teaching two courses at Lally in the spring of 2021. He is looking forward to engaging with the highly intelligent faculty and students, very nice colleagues, and taking part in the “easy-to-notice” pride that people have in being part of RPI.
